malziME is a learning tool for media literacy and data protection awareness. The AI profiles are guesses. They only show what algorithms might claim – none of it is true, and none of it is proven.
For workshops you can also use the AI-generated example photos provided, or older pictures. No uploaded image is stored permanently, and none can be retrieved after the analysis.

Open-source software used
malziME is open source (MIT licence) and uses these third-party components, each under its own licence. All of them are served from our own server; none of them calls an external service.
- Leaflet 1.9.4 (map) – BSD-2-Clause – Volodymyr Agafonkin
- exifr 7.1 (photo metadata in the browser) – MIT – Mike Kovařík
- libheif 1.23.6 with libde265 1.1.3 (opens HEIC photos in the browser when the browser cannot do it itself) – LGPL 3.0 – Dirk Farin, struktur AG; built by us from the unmodified original sources, build recipe in the source code
- Poppins (typeface) – SIL Open Font License 1.1 – Indian Type Foundry
- Map tiles and addresses from OpenStreetMap (ODbL 1.0) – fetched directly by your browser, only if an uploaded photo carries GPS data; for the demo photos, fixed map sections and addresses are part of the site
- The three demo photos are AI-generated and show no real persons
